Fall Weather Means Time for Baked Donuts

When the weather gets chilly I wanna make baked donuts with a hint of nutmeg and dusted in cinnamon and sugar and all just for 180 calories each...
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup sugar
1-1/2 baking powder
1/4 teasp nutmeg
1/2 teasp salt
3/4 cup low-fat buttermilk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp. vanilla extract...

Mix altogether,let sit 5 minutes..put into piping bag or quart size ziploc bag and twist and snip a little off corner. Pipe into donut pan sprayed lightly with non-stick cooking spray.bake at 425 for 8 minutes or until golden brown.melt 2 tbsp butter and pour into small dish. Dip one side into butter and then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Follow up with a cup of tea.

Cupcakes and Nut Brown Ales...

I always get the inquisitive eyebrow when I say I like browns and porters. Not sure why because they're so damn good. At first I wasn't too excited due to it's gold foiling but then I saw its a product of England and my heart skipped a beat (but not in a New Kids on the Block kinda way). And let's face it..the story on the back regarding the stone Yorkshire squares had me at hello.
Its a subtle strength,smooth though without any awkward aftertaste...it does have a nice gentle malt thing going on which might explain why it went so well with my chocolate cupcake. No, seriously...try it with a choclate cupcake.
It's good even when it starts to get warm...so on a scale from 1 to 10 I give it an 8...just don't drink 3 in an hour like I have. Yum.zzzzzzz

I'm a Little Teapot.....

Having British blood in my system for some reason HAS automatically made me a stickler for tea. Earl Grey tends to be my favorite. You tear open a bag or pop open a tin of that stuff and it's like crack! it's soothing intoxicating smell instantly calms me. I recall when i was younger we had tea time with my grandmum, tea set and all...and now that she nor my father are unfortunately no longer present in my life i feel like i should honor them by acquiring a tea set of my own so i thought i would share some of my findings in case any of you out there feel inspired to get your tea time on.

There's always the more modern and manly tea time with this Mr. Tea teapot for $45 on Etsy.

Then we have the scare-the-crap-out-of-you Ewok teapot. seriously i love Star Wars but this thing is creeeeepy. Especially for $80. to each their own.

I found the Halo Teapot to be simple yet modern in it's deliciously smooth whiteness.

I'm not sure how much i wanna pay for a little sexy in my tea but the Blaue Blume teapot tries to seduce you into paying a hot $128 for it.

i could say a lude comment on this "rooster" tea set but i better not.

for $17.29 i am digging this Old Dutch red tea set. It comes in other colors too.
